Investors will introduce themselves to startups. The Reverse Pitch helps founders choose the best one

Starting a business is always difficult. Without the right business contacts, it is almost impossible to break through. The international syndicate of angel investors DEPO Angels from the DEPO Ventures group will therefore organize a Reverse Pitch event at the end of March, which will help connect startups with investors. Start-up entrepreneurs will be able to expand their network of contacts. While startups will be introduced to dozens of angel investors from Central Europe and the Baltic countries, this works out for investors who will be able to find new investment opportunities.

Reverse Pitch

"There is a long-term imbalance in venture capital between investors and technology founders, usually in favor of investors. From information asymmetries to the use of a better bargaining position as a capital owner. Negotiations can often fail, which is inefficient for both parties. We thought it would be interesting to reverse these roles: What if the founders first had the opportunity to get to know the investor better and choose the one that suits him both humanly and professionally? where you are equal, we also give investors who want to gain new attractive investment opportunities," adds Michal Ciffra from DEPO Ventures.

The unusual online event is free and is suitable for all startup founders who are at an early stage.

Reverse Pitch starts with short presentations by invited investors. Each is given three minutes to introduce themselves, their expertise and focus. After every pitch, there will be a two-minute Q&A. The questions will be asked by a jury composed of experienced founders. The event ends with networking.

DEPO Angels regularly organizes international online events to connect startups with investors. In the past, for example, similar meetings have helped to invest in startups such as TATUM, Bikefair, Zenoo, Augmented Robotics, Beem, Pulselive and SmartGuide. For example, the Transatlantic Startup Pitch event took place in February this year, where ten global startups originating in Europe and North America were presented.

Moreover, help from investors to startups is not limited to providing funds, business tools or other resources. The founders of startups can get advice and ideas from them on which way to go in building their own business or how to overcome obstacles. Investors are well acquainted with the startup environment and the entire market, they tend to have an overview of a specific industry, competitors, or potential customers. And they are happy to share their experience.

Reverse Pitch will take place online on March 31, 2022, from 5 pm CET, those interested can sign up here.

"At each stage of the startup, the investor has a specific role. We believe that in the early stages, the role of a good angel investor is crucial. He can advise and help the founders through his network of business contacts and knowledge. "We strive to make it as international and diverse as possible," emphasizes Michal Ciffra.
